Looking back on what we've done so far, it is clear that the process has afforded us positive opportunities and experiences already. It has brought each of us into a deeper relationship with God. It has taught us a lot of lessons about patience and about what really is important in life. It has allowed us to share our faith with others. And it has led us to meet new people: some who are in the process like us, and some who've already completed their adoption.
This week we met
a family who has been 'there and back'. Hunter & Lauri adopted their beautiful Haley from Ukraine and got home just over a month ago. They were so kind to invite us into their home for dinner. They shared pictures, video and stories about their journey. It was good to talk and share, and it gave us the opportunity to ask questions from someone with firsthand knowledge. Perhaps the best part of the evening was interacting with their sweet little girl. It was great to see how much she is thriving in her new environment and with her family. It's amazing to think she's only been in our country for a month!

As it turns out, they live just a few miles from us, so Little Guy will have a Ukrainian friend when he gets home! Thanks to Hunter, Lauri, and Haley for sharing with us. Zack & I really appreciate your time and your kindness. New friends - just one more great benefit of this life-changing journey!
Please pray for God's continued blessings on this sweet family. And please continue to be in prayer for our approval & travel date. As I mentioned in my last post, we've been told that we will most likely hear something late next week.

We went out for a bite to eat tonight, and while we were sitting there, a lady came in with a little boy around two. He was wearing camo shorts, a llttle tee shirt and Crocs. He was so adorable, Ben looked at him all the way to his seat and turned to me and said,"can you believe that before long we're gonna have a little guy like that?" I got kinda teary eyed (imagine that Jenn)and it just seemed so real and so near. Not as near as we'd like, but we tend to want to rush God at times and help Him with His planning. He knows we're human and I know He understands. We love you-------Mom
It's so nice having friends who also adopted from Ukraine. It's going to be fun to get together for playdates, to compare the notes, and just to have somebody to talk to.
Can't wait to hear the news about your travel date!
Having followed the Hunter and Lauri's journey via their blog, it was great to see the connection you've made.
Can't wait to read about your journey and hopefully follow behind you in the not too distant future.
IT'S ME AGAIN. JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS. I WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM AT THE DR THIS AFTERNOON AND A LITTLE BOY CAME IN WITH HIS MOM. THEY SAT CLOSE TO ME AND THAT LITTLE FELLOW'S MOUTH DID NOT STOP. I ASKED HOW OLD HE WAS AND WAS AMAZED THAT HE WAS ONLY ONE. HE WAS LOOKING AT MAGAZINES TELLING WHAT EACH PICTURE WAS. HE TOOK ME BY THE HAND AND LEAD ME TO THE WINDOW TO SHOW ME WHAT WAS OUT THERE. HIS MOM TOLD HIM TO LEAVE THE NICE LADY ALONE, BUT I TOLD HER, NO LEAVE HIM ALONE, I'VE GOTTA GET USED TO IT. WE HAD A FUN TIME. IT JUST MADE EVEN ME MORE ANXIOUS FOR OUR LITTLE GUY TO GET HERE.-------LOVE MOM
Great news! I have a question...how quickly do they tell you the little guy will pick up English? And what is the adjustment time for a little guy coming from his background? I've heard different things and I'm sure you've researched it. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop!
