WE GOT OUR APPOINTMENT DATE!!!
I got the call shortly after lunch today. We have an appointment with the SDA on November 7th! I can't believe that it is finally here... no more talking in generalities. We finally have something concrete to wrap our brains around. It sure feels good.
And now the planning begins...

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it either! I'm so happy for you guys! Please share your plans with us - are you getting the adoption fare or the regular discount tickets? The good news is that the tickets are much cheaper in November, the seats are easier to get, etc. I think buying regular tickets will be cheaper even with the penalty fee compare to the adoption fare.
Oh, and November 7th used to be a holiday in former Soviet Union (revolution day), but not anymore :)

I can't stop smiling and telling everyone that I see that yall are going to get our little guy on November 7th. Like you said earlier Jenn, this will be the best Birthday present you ever got. And, boy won't we have something awesome to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

I am so excited for you two! I remember when Clark and I received our appointment date earlier this year! It all becomes so real when you have a specific date to look forward to.

Woot!! We are so happy for you guys. For the record, Grady and I were discussing his new cousin and he thinks he should be named Charlie. He told me this when I said I didn't know what his name would be. Charlie is the name he's given his imaginery best friend, so this is a pretty high compliment.
Congrats on getting your appointment date! It is so awesome to see progress in some of the blogs we've been following.
We can't wait to follow your journey as it will help us prepare for our trip. Thanks for the note on the timing of your appt. vs when your dossier was submitted. It helps to have a sense of that and your timing sounds similar to a few other families we've heard from. So our trip may be a bit later than we originally thought, but it will be when it will be.

After reading of the conversation you had with your Dad several months ago when you were getting impatient, and he reminded you that it takes 9 months to have a baby... kinda neat that your SDA appointment is exactly 9 months to the day since you made the decision to adopt!
