We're still alive!

Sorry it's been so long since we've posted. Just after we got back from our SDA appointment, we were getting ready to write a post and lost power in our apartment. That was nearly 30 hours ago, and we just got power back!

Anyway, I'll jump to the part that you all want to hear.. the appointment went well! We were shown several profiles and accepted the referral to see a little boy. We will be leaving very early Friday morning to travel to meet him. We are excited and anxious - please keep us in your prayers as we take this next step.

In the meantime, we've been exploring Kyiv a little bit. We haven't gotten very adventurous in our cuisine choices, but we've enjoyed McDonalds and some pizza. We've also seen some beautiful churches and architecture. It still doesn't seem real that we're actually here!
Anyway, that's it for now. We'll try to post again soon, but it depends on internet availability in the region.
Here are a few pictures from our first few days...

How exciting!!! I can't wait to hear more about this little guy. I am so happy that everything went well at the appointment and that you had a clear feeling about which little boy to go see. I knew that God would make it clear for you. We will be praying for you tomorrow and anxiously waiting for more good news.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm really surprised. I wasn't expecting anything so gorgeous. I was glad to know why we hadn't heard from you and i'm sure everyone else was too. God is so clearly at work in your lives. We love you and miss you and Adie is doing fine.

Yall look cute all bundled up. It was good to talk to yall today. We are so excited about LG. Can't wait to hear how your first meeting goes with him. I'm so glad that Zack is feeling better. Yall both sounded so good on the phone today. Tommy and I will have yall in our prayers as yall travel to LG's region. We love yall so much. Can't wait for yall to get home with our new Grandson. I pray that things go well from here on out and that the time passes quickly for yall until yall are back home with our boy.

Love yall,

Please take me to this land where vanilla ice cream gathers on lawns and sidewalks and Zack eats it by the handful... :^)

Remember this Song? : )

Well, I don't know if you remember me or not
I'm one of the kids they brought in from the home
I was the red-haired boy in an old, green flannel shirt
You may not have seen me, I was standing off alone

I didn't come and talk to you 'cause that's never worked before
And you'll probably never see this letter, anyway
But just in case there's something you can do to help me out
I'll ask you one more time

All I really want for Christmas is someone to tuck me in
A shoulder to cry on if I lose, shoulders to ride on if I win
There's so much I could ask for, but there's just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas is a family

Well, I guess I should go ahead and tell you now
If it's really true about that list you have
Somehow I always seem to end up in a fight
But I'm really trying hard not to be bad

But maybe if I had a brother or a dad to wrestle with
Maybe they could teach me how to get along
And from everything I've heard, it sounds like the greatest gift on earth
Would be a mom

All I want for Christmas is someone who'll be here
To sing me happy birthday for the next 100 years
And It's okay if they're not perfect or even if they're a little broken
That's alright, 'Cause so am I

Well, I guess I should go, it's almost time for bed
Maybe next time I write you I'll be at home

`Cause all I really want for Christmas is someone to tuck me in
Tell me I'll never be alone, someone whose love will never end
Of all that I could ask for, well, there's just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas is a family

Glad to see you made it down to Independence Square...Nothing like being in the heart of the city. Don't worry about not being adventurous on the food, you will have lots of opportunity over the next month to enjoy Ukrainian food. Hope that your meeting went well today. May the Lord guide you in this momentous decision before...Blessings!
