Bonding

Things are continuing to go well as we build a relationship with our boy. He is precious and we are enjoying watching his personality begin to show up. We can’t wait until the day when we can take him home with us! Speaking of that, we found out on Monday that we will have court next week.. There is still a lot ahead of us, so please keep the 3 of us in your prayers.

We talk about the three of us going to America. I even use a Matchbox Airplane (thanks for that wonderful gift, Theresa!) to illustrate the idea. He seems excited but I know it’s a lot for his little mind to handle.

Those that know me (Jenn) know that I love to cook. Well it is definitely an adventure here! We cooked a meal for the first time on Monday night. We tried to get creative with what we had. We ended up with pasta with a very spicy tomato sauce, and dumplings filled with turkey, all topped with Russian cheese. It was very good and we dubbed it Pasta Amerikansky – we may even have it again tonight!

Showers… err, baths… are an adventure here! Hot water is hit or miss. When we find that we do have it, we are quick to bathe before we lose it again. And as you can see in the picture, we use the word “shower” loosely. There is no curtain, and only a handheld shower head. But as with everything else so far, I think we’re adapting to it pretty well.

Please continue to pray for all the days and tasks ahead of us!

The Pasta Amerikansky looks very delicious and sounds very creative!

Glad to see you are adapting well to the showers, etc :) My husband and I are joking that we are going camping to Ukraine :)

You are in our thoughts and prayers! Hoping for the court early next week!

We are so happy to hear that everything is going so well. It sounds like you are adapting to a completely different life. I don't know how well I would do with that "shower". I know you can't wait to get back home. LG will be very overwhelmed with all we have over here I am sure. We can't wait to find out more and see a picture. It is fun trying to figure out his age by his hand though. You guys are such teases. It sounds like things are moving along pretty quickly, so we are praying that continues and you are able to get home very soon.

I'm so glad things are going well with Little Guy. The picture of his hand looks adorable! :)
Pasta Amerikansky looks delicious! Isn't cooking in a foreign country an adventure? Just buying the groceries is an undertaking. ;) Can't wait to try my hand at it again!

Great to see some of your photos too. Gives all the rest of us more of a sense of the adventure to come!
I will continue to pray for you as you prepare for court.

We are thrilled to hear that things are progressing smoothly ( minus the lack of hot water and power) so far for you guys, and we are praying for them to continue along that path. We are anxiously awaiting the day that you guys get to bring LG home. We also can't wait to see his precious face and one day soon meet him. You are all in our daily prayers. Thanks for the updates!

I finally got around to checking your blog again since you first got there. I am so excited for you guys that I'm crying. I am so glad you have found your Little Guy. What a blessing! I love how you are only showing pics of his little hand, what a surprise it will be to see him. The shower! Oh I remember those from the times I've traveled to Europe. Not fun, but you do get used to it. We continue to pray for you all as you keep on with your "adventure". Can't wait to read the next posting!

It's amazing to me how God picks out these perfect families. I know the journey is not over, but God is good & I pray that He continues to bless your family. The pictures of your little man's hands are precious. I can't wait to see the rest of him. =) Be safe & you'll be in our prayers.

I look at the little hands in these pictures, and can just imagine them folded in prayer asking for a Mommy and Daddy to take him to a new and loving home. God is answering prayers all around. He is truly awesome!!!!!!

Love you all three and am ready for you to come home. Mom
