Monday, we were kind of bummed about having to go another whole week without seeing the boy. We had walked several miles in the morning just trying to kill some time and find some cool stuff to get see and take pictures of. We were able to get a couple of pictures of the trolley buses that run in the city where we are staying. It is actually a pretty cool system, they have regular buses that are electric and run off of the overhead power lines and then there are trolley buses that run in the downtown area. The trolleys run strictly on tracks. Public transportation is huge here since cars are VERY expensive. For example, a Honda Accord that might be 20K in the US is probably over 30K here.

While we were walking back, we found a cool looking little pizza place. We were kind of nervous about going in because we haven’t eaten out on our own yet (except McDonald’s in Kyiv). Jennifer successfully ordered us a pizza with cheese and tomatoes and two drinks and the total came to less than $5!!!

We ran by the supermarket to pick up a couple of things and came back and settled in to read and then watch some DVD’s. We were right in the middle of Polar Express when out facilitator called and said that the boy’s grandmother wanted to meet us! We were very excited about that because she wants to share some baby photos etc of him that we will be very happy to get. She also said that the director of the orphanage had said it was ok to visit the boy while with the grandmother and then again on Wednesday and Friday!!! We are very excited to get to see him some more before we pick him up for good.

This is just a random photo we took on Sunday of what we think is a World War II Memorial just down from our apartment. I think we may get an 8x10 done in black and white and put it in the boys room.

Zack he looks so much like you at that age, I can't wait to see his younger pictures and see if they also look like you. I'm so thrilled that you get to visit again, more for him, actually than you and Jenn, cause at least you have each other.
Just one more thing--HURRY HOME, WE MISS YOU AND SO DOES ADIE! --love Mom
Ditto to what Barbara said....we miss you!!!! Can't wait til yall get home!! It's so good that yall get to be with LG several times this week. I know yall miss him terribly. Enjoy your visits....you'll all be together forever before you know it.
We love yall,
Mom and Tommy
I am wondering why they aren't letting you visit him? Is your Orphanage director peculiar about that for some reason?
At any rate, I can understand how that would be hard to wait for!! The good thing is, you'll have him forever after these few days!
How cool that you will get to see baby pictures!?!
It's so neat that you get to see baby photos and meet his babushka! What a wonderful surprise!
Loved seeing your photos of the area.
Hope the rest of your week goes quickly. Soon it will be time to head home!!!
That is so good that you are meeting the grandmother. Msybe she will fill you in on some of the questions you may have and to be able to have some of LG's baby pictures that will be great. So glad they are letting you visit with him some during this waiting period. Time will fly by and you'll be home soon. Stay safe and hurry up and bring my great-nephew home. The 3 munchkins are eager to meet him (after he has some adjustment time of course.)
i'm so glad you're going to get to see some more of him this week...and meeting the Grandmother - what a blessing! We have a few pictures of our middle two children from when they were babies. But we have nothing for Quinn. It's sad. We'll be praying that the meeting with the Babushka goes well! :)
I am so glad that things are going so well for you guys. Your little guy is very handsome and I can't wait to meet him. Thanks for keeping us updated. Amy Bube
I hope that the time with your son's babuska was priceless as well as those photos. They will mean a lot later in life. that you may return home quickly with your son.
Hey guys, it's so great to see you all so happy. It was nice of her to get the pics for you. Get home safely.
That's really neat that you are able to meet his grandmother. I am sure it is a little hard on her that he will be leaving, but I am sure she will be comforted by your smiling faces! Come home soon!
I am soaking in the pictures. The pizza looks so much better than what we ate in Russia.
God Bless.
